Óige Ghlas support Boycotting Eurovision 2025

While you sing & dance, they’re starved and bombed

For many years activists have called for Israel to be excluded from the Eurovision Song Contest in response to their occupation of lands in Palestine and Syria. In 2019 when Israel hosted the contest they broadcast these occupied lands as their own.

In 2022 Russia was rightly excluded from the contest following their brutal invasion of Ukraine. it seems however that as long as Israeli company MorrocaccanOil is Eurovision’s largest sponsor, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has no intention of removing Israel from the song contest.

Gaza is now suffering from a man made famine with thens of thousands of children at risk of starving to death, if they aren’t bombed first. If you want to send the EBU a message about Israel’s participation, hit them where it hurts, their wallets.

Why can’t we have anything nice? The EBU claims to not want politics to play a part in the song contest, and then make conflicting political decisions depending on the countries involved. It’s time to boycott.
